Teaser Blitz: Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason

Sophie scanned the bar for Liam. The tables on either side of the room were all taken, wooden barrels serving as chairs. Servers carried trays over their heads, weaving through the people crowded on the dance floor. Drinking beer and talking, they waited for the band tuning up on the raised stage. When she was younger, Sophie had snuck into the bar a couple times to hear Liam and his brothers’ band. The owner had always spotted her and thrown her out for being underage. “Get up there, Gallagher,” several people called out. Sophie heard a familiar, deep laugh and went up on her tiptoes, following it to a table a few feet to the right of the stage where Liam sat. Sophie was about to turn to Ava and Dana and point him out when she felt herself being maneuvered through the crowd toward the stage.  “You have got to be kidding me,” she yelled to be heard over the crowd. “You set me up!” “You were always trying to sneak in here to hear him sing. Now’s your chance.” Ava shrugged. “You know what they say about payback, right?” But she wasn’t thinking about payback when Liam got up on the stage and accepted a guitar […]

The (NOT SO) Secret Life of a Book Blogger #booktag

Book tag time!! Thanks to the lovely Angy over at The Collector of Book Boyfriends for tagging me. Last week, I did the TV show book tag. This time around, it’s going to be all about The (not so) secret life of book bloggers. Alright! 1. How long have you been a blogger? Just kidding! Although, sometimes it feels like it’s been that long. In reality, it’s only been 3 years. I had another book blog before on Blogger, and after about two years, I felt disillusioned because I was doing nothing but promo tours on it. I wanted a clean slate, so I started The Racy Lit Reader. And I’ve learned from my previous mistakes, which is why you won’t see me do a lot of book tours anymore. 2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging? When it stops becoming fun. Blogging is a lot of work. I have a family who demands my attention and a full time job, so blogging is a way for me to unwind and to have fun. I figure if and when it stops becoming fun for me, I’d stop. Or maybe I’d take a time off from it for a while. 3. What is the best thing […]

{Book Tag Sunday} Game of Thrones

Thanks to Thanks to Angy from Collector of Book Boyfriends & Girlfriends for creating this FUN book tag. for creating this tag and Kim from Reading In The Red Room for the tag! To play this book tag, you need to… 1) Pick a TV show 2) then use gifs, memes, etc of that show to describe books and characters It’s as easy as that – Here we go. Full disclosure. I don’t watch TV anymore so I’m not up-to-date when it comes to the hottest shows on TV right now. BUT I do watch The Game of Thrones. I loved the books and even though the TV show sometimes make me rage, I’m too invested to stop watching it. So as part of this book tag, I’m going to use the GAME of THRONES. 1.  Name your favorite author that you’d do anything to meet her/him in person. Hmm…I would say for romance, I would love to meet Kristen Ashley, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Nora Roberts. Aside from loving their books, I love following them on social media. It would be fun to meet them in person, too. For non-romance, I would love to meet JK Rowling and George RR Martin. JK Rowling because I find her personal journey of being […]
