Release Blitz {Spotlight+Review}: Completely Yours by Erin Nicholas

Review   In this delightfully sweet novel, Erin Nicholas explores the age-old question: Can two people who have two completely different interests really make a relationship work? Kiera Connolly is graphic designer who lives a socially quiet life but has a thriving online gaming persona. Zach Ashley is her opposite. Outgoing and popular, Zach is an EMT with a bit of a hero complex. Okay. Not a bit, but a huge hero complex. He’s a fixer. A rescuer. The attraction was instant the moment Zach rescued Kiera from a disastrous event. But Kiera knows well enough that Zach isn’t the kind of guy who would appreciate her quirks or geekiness. And she won’t change even for someone who’s as attractive and sweet as Zach. She’s been there and done that. But as they continue to spend their time together, Zach and Kiera discovers that opposites truly do attract. If only they could find a way to let go of their preconceived ideas about each other. I enjoyed this book from page one until the very end. It started off slow but it builds slowly until I was immersed and invested in the characters. I loved how the author focused on the character’s motivation instead of just throwing one […]

Blog Tour {Review + Excerpt} After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow Publication Date: November 28th, 2016 Genre: Contemporary Romance “Second chances are not given to make things right, but are given to prove that we could be even better after we fall.” —Unknown Excerpt: “Wow,” she said, shutting the screen door behind her. “That was close. Thank you so much.” “You’re welcome.” I crossed my arms, wishing I’d thought to grab a shirt. “Want to tell me what you were doing out there?” Her cheeks colored. “Um, I was taking a run.” “Up a tree?” She laughed nervously. “No. Well, I didn’t start out in a tree. That happened later.” I cocked my head, unable to resist giving her a hard time. Not so sure of yourself now, are you, Barbie? “Oh yeah?” “Yes. See, I left the cottage I’m renting without using the bathroom by mistake,” she began, twisting her fingers together, “and I was planning on running a loop around the farm, but it’s bigger than I thought.” “Ah. So you were looking for a bathroom in the woods?” “Well, yes.” She swallowed. “Sort of. But then I heard a splash and saw you…” Her cheeks were practically purple now. I played dumb. “Saw me what?” “Saw you naked, OK?” she […]

Release Blitz {Review}: After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

This has got to be my favorite Melanie Harlow book to date! After We Fall is an emotionally charged, heart-stopping romance between a broken man who feels his chance at love has passed and a woman determined to prove him wrong. After a humiliating experience with her ex at a charity event, Margot is need of a break. An out-of-town client of their PR firm provided Margot a chance to get away for awhile. The job was simple: help a family owned farm get their branding and web presence off the ground and help boost their profit. But things start to get complicated fast when Margot meets one of the owners, Jack Valintini. Jack is the grumpy, hot-as-hell brother who is convinced that this new endeavor is a waste of time and money. He’s not that all impressed with Margot either even though he finds himself thinking more and more about her. The banter between Jack and Margot is tinged with sexual tension from the get go, and when they eventually got together, it was sooo hot and so rewarding to read. I loved it. Loved the chemistry between them. I also adored Melanie Harlow’s cheeky humor shining through the pages with this book. I found myself snort-laughing […]

Release Blitz {Top 5+Excerpt}: Split by J.B. Salsbury

Top 5 places/people that inspired Split 1. Payson, Arizona – A small mountain town about 80 miles from Phoenix. My grandparents live there so I’ve spent a good part of my life visiting. 2. Phantom and Raul from Phantom of the Opera. 3. My friend Amanda who the book is dedicated to. She loves reading thrillers and mysteries but she’s not a romance fan. I was challenged to write something she would love to read. 4. I’ve known a few people in my life who have struggled with mental illness, not to the degree that Lucas suffers, but enough that the concept of loving someone who has so many different sides inspired me. 5. Myself. I think many women feel like they have to act a certain way in certain circles. The duplicity of the female psyche is fascinating. Excerpt “You can’t jump.” She narrows her eyes on me. “Of course I can.” “Is it safe?” My grip on her grows tighter and she steps close enough that I can feel the heat of her breasts brush against my ribs. “Lucas, do you trust me?” “No.” The word comes out on a shaky whisper. A gentle grin softens her face and with both her hands she works to […]

Blog Tour {Q&A+Giveaway}: Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason

MISTLETOE COTTAGE Q&A What was the most challenging part of writing MISTLETOE COTTAGE? Keeping the characters and secrets straight. Once I began writing the story, I’d change a character’s name because it no longer fit with who they were, and I’d forget to change throughout the book. And then there are the secrets from the past and deciding what to reveal now or what can wait until future books. Does any music/situations/media inspire your writing process? If so, what? I find music hugely inspiring and have a theme song and playlist for each book. The first thing I do when I sit down to write is play the book’s theme song and it immediately puts me in the story. What’s one thing that you enjoy most about writing? Least? What I love the most is when you write a detailed outline and your characters take the story in a totally different direction, or they reveal something to you and you have this magical aha moment. What I like the least is when I have to stop writing to take care of other aspects of the business. What was your favorite part of the book? I loved writing the book from three points of view. I don’t want to […]

Blog Tour {Review+Giveaway}: Thief of Hearts (Hearts #5) by L.H. Cosway

One of the things that I like about LH Cosway is that she writes unique stories and characters. Thief of Hearts is a great example of what makes LH Cosway work for me and a lot of readers. The book follows the story between a young widow, Andrea Anderson and an ex-convict, Stu Cross. Andrea has something or someone that Stu wants, and he’ll do just about anything to get it, including enrolling in an adult learning class that Andrea teaches. His plan was simple: seduce Andrea and then accomplish his goal. Sounds simple, right? Unfortunately, everything changed when Stu got to know Andrea very deeply, and his plan just became complicated. I love stories where the hero sets out to seduce the heroine but ends up being the one who is seduced (in every sense of the word) instead. Stu might be a genius when it comes to complex mathematical equations but his genius is not match for the sizzling attraction and chemistry that burned between him and Andrea. And it’s delightful to watch a hero being brought to his knees his Stu did. Thief of Hearts started of slow. Not surprisingly since Andrea is still hesitant to move on and start another relationship after the death […]
