Cover reveal time! All Played Out is the third book out of Cora Carmack’s Rusk University Series. It’s a new adult contemporary romance between a smart, studious girl and a football wide receiver with a party boy reputation. She wants to experience normal college life before she graduates, so what’s a girl to do? Make a list, of course, and then ask a gorgeous hunk to help you check off each item on the said list. I mean, what could go wrong?
My very first Lili St. Germain book, and definitely not my last. I was a bit nervous starting this book. I don’t consider myself a dark reader especially when it comes to my romance, and I’m picky when it comes to my dark reads. Fortunately, I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the writing and got sucked into the world that Lili built. Although I have to say, this book or this series in general isn’t really considered romance, but there is a very strong romantic elements that runs throughout the whole book that most romance readers like me would appreciate.
I love a good spin-off? Don’t you? Whether it’d be your favorite TV series or in this case, a favorite book series. The Bittersweet Chronicles is a spin-off of Selena Laurence’s Lush Series, although the two series couldn’t be more different from each other. Lush was primarily a story about a rock band. The Bittersweet Chronicles focuses just on one or two characters.
I hate, HATE not finishing books, which is why I very rarely DNF, but in this case, I just had to. The story wasn’t going anywhere and everything about it just annoyed me. So my first DNF for the year, and I feel so bad because Grace Burrowes writes wonderful historicals. Unfortunately, her contemporary effort failed to impress me. Now onto my review…
So…I’ve talked about this book in my last post, and as you all know I was very excited to read this. I always get nervous about reading a book that I’m very excited about because my excitement tends to get the better of me. And sometimes, I’d end up not liking the book and then I’d feel bummed out about it. Thankfully, this book delivered on everything it promised. There’s romance, and the feels…oh my God, my feels for this book. Simply put, This Heart of Mine captured my attention and my heart from beginning to end. So…5 stars!
I think it’s going to be an emotional reading week for me this week. I have two books on my queue that will probably gut me and send me spiraling into a huge book hangover. But guess what? I don’t care. I’m reading three awesome books this week. First up…This Heart of Mine by Brenda Novak.
