Release Blitz {Review}: After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

This has got to be my favorite Melanie Harlow book to date! After We Fall is an emotionally charged, heart-stopping romance between a broken man who feels his chance at love has passed and a woman determined to prove him wrong. After a humiliating experience with her ex at a charity event, Margot is need of a break. An out-of-town client of their PR firm provided Margot a chance to get away for awhile. The job was simple: help a family owned farm get their branding and web presence off the ground and help boost their profit. But things start to get complicated fast when Margot meets one of the owners, Jack Valintini. Jack is the grumpy, hot-as-hell brother who is convinced that this new endeavor is a waste of time and money. He’s not that all impressed with Margot either even though he finds himself thinking more and more about her. The banter between Jack and Margot is tinged with sexual tension from the get go, and when they eventually got together, it was sooo hot and so rewarding to read. I loved it. Loved the chemistry between them. I also adored Melanie Harlow’s cheeky humor shining through the pages with this book. I found myself snort-laughing […]

Review: Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding by Jessica Clare

Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding might be short on page count but it’s not short on the squishy, gooey, feels. After months of preparation, including a postponement, hookups and unexpected pregnancies, Gretchen and Hunter are finally, FINALLY tying the knot. But alas, everything seems to be falling apart on Gretchen: part of the mansion, where the wedding is supposed to be held, is flooded in, she fired another baker, and Hunter is keeping something from her. On top of that, her recovering drug addict sister Daphne wants to reconnect with her. I adored every second of this book. It’s a novella but doesn’t read like one. Aside from Gretchen and Hunter’s wedding story, there’s also a sweet, redemptive story about Daphne. Remember her? Fans of the series sort of have a hate-hate relationship with her and I was curious whether or not Jessica Clare would give her a book even if it’s not with one of the billionaires. Well, she did. And it was quite lovely. Okay. A lot lovely. It actually made me cry, simply because her HEA was so hard fought, I feel like. I don’t want to say anything more except that if you’ve read One Night with a Billionaire, you’ll know who her […]

Excerpt Reveal: After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow Publication Date: November 28th, 2016 Genre: Contemporary Romance Synopsis: Jack Valentini isn’t my type. Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave. Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so. But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me for ten days, and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles. His huge, hard muscles. Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop. And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife three years ago left him broken and bitter and blaming himself. He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness. But he’s wrong. I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last. “Second chances […]

Review: Trust (Wrong #3) by Jana Aston

This story was a breath of fresh air. I have to admit that I’m one of those readers who love stories with lots of conflict between the hero and the heroine. The more insurmountable those conflicts are, the more I love it. Trust has none of those, and yet, I found myself swooning over this book. I finished this in one sitting and had the silliest smile on my face right after. Why? Well two reasons: Chloe Scott and Boyd Gallagher. I fell for these two as individual characters and as a couple. I adored Chloe Scott. She’s lovely, sweet but socially awkward. Painfully so. She exhibits her anxiety by telling knock, knock jokes which were so horrible, it was hilarious. I immediately connected with her character and wanted her to be happy and have her prince and her happily ever after. And the perfect PERFECT man for that job was Boyd Gallagher. I have a confession to make. I barely remembered Boyd from book one. He didn’t really register on my radar until this book. And boy, did he register. He’s probably my most favorite Jana Aston hero ever. He’s sweet and considerate of Chloe’s issue’s had me melting like a puddle of goo. Gah! He was […]

Release Blitz {Top 5+Excerpt}: Split by J.B. Salsbury

Top 5 places/people that inspired Split 1. Payson, Arizona – A small mountain town about 80 miles from Phoenix. My grandparents live there so I’ve spent a good part of my life visiting. 2. Phantom and Raul from Phantom of the Opera. 3. My friend Amanda who the book is dedicated to. She loves reading thrillers and mysteries but she’s not a romance fan. I was challenged to write something she would love to read. 4. I’ve known a few people in my life who have struggled with mental illness, not to the degree that Lucas suffers, but enough that the concept of loving someone who has so many different sides inspired me. 5. Myself. I think many women feel like they have to act a certain way in certain circles. The duplicity of the female psyche is fascinating. Excerpt “You can’t jump.” She narrows her eyes on me. “Of course I can.” “Is it safe?” My grip on her grows tighter and she steps close enough that I can feel the heat of her breasts brush against my ribs. “Lucas, do you trust me?” “No.” The word comes out on a shaky whisper. A gentle grin softens her face and with both her hands she works to […]
