Short Reviews Round-Up: Lynne Graham, Terri Osburn, Jennifer Foor, Kathleen O’Brien

So I’ve been slacking off in my reviews lately, and when I do review something, I’d just write a few paragraphs and call it a day. So I thought I’d be cool to put them in one long blog post.

So first up…

The Sheikh’s Secret Babies by Lynne Graham

This book has all the tropes that made HP a guilty-pleasure read for me.

Long-haired, smoldering Sheik hero? Check.
Beautiful albeit naive English rose? Check.
Secret babies? Duh. Check.
Hasty marriage? Check.
Manipulative in-law? Check.
Blackmail? Check.

Plus the fact that this is Lynne Graham, my enjoyment for this book was guaranteed. I did enjoy it, I just wasn’t bowled over by it compared with LG’s other HP titles. Still a good HP read though.

His First and Last Kiss by Terri Osburn

I have been a huge fan of Terri Osburn after getting hooked on her Anchor Island series. TO takes us to another small town, this time to Ardent Springs where a bitter woman with a failed acting career is forced to return to her home town after vowing not to.

I loved how Terri Osburn wrote these characters. Both Spencer and Lorelei weren’t the same people they were years ago. The changes in their perspective is evident in the book. I liked how they come together. They had to work out through their issues, which is handled beautifully by Ms. Osburn.

Fast-paced, sweet, full of interesting and engaging characters, the Ardent Springs series is another series to watch out for from this author.

Binge (7 Year Itch #1) by Jennifer Foor

The first part of the book was good. I liked how the author painted the picture of two people who have been married for a while, who still love each other but are growing apart. They both made stupid decisions and it’s clear to me that both are to be blamed for the deterioration of their marriage.

But then halfway through the book, everything went downhill. It was all crazy town with both MCs flip-flopping like crazy, making stupid decisions after another. It was like a train wreck I couldn’t look away from. As much as I enjoy reading craziness, Binge just lost me.

His Defiant Princess by Kathleen O’Brien

Another sweet second chance romance stars. Brenna and Ronan spent an unforgettable summer years ago. But after the summer is over Ronan left, leaving Brenna with a broken heart. Unbeknownst to her, Ronan is actually a prince. Fast forward years later, they meet again after Brenna is hired by the royal family to smooth out a PR nightmare. Ronan wants to rekindle their romance. but Brenna is unsure whether she trusts him especially since she’s not princess material at all.

Really enjoyed this novella. The writing was easy and the characters were likable. I enjoyed how they came together and how they worked out their differences. A fun, light, enjoyable read.
