Book tag time!! Thanks to the lovely Angy over at The Collector of Book Boyfriends for tagging me. Last week, I did the TV show book tag. This time around, it’s going to be all about The (not so) secret life of book bloggers. Alright! 1. How long have you been a blogger? Just kidding! Although, sometimes it feels like it’s been that long. In reality, it’s only been 3 years. I had another book blog before on Blogger, and after about two years, I felt disillusioned because I was doing nothing but promo tours on it. I wanted a clean slate, so I started The Racy Lit Reader. And I’ve learned from my previous mistakes, which is why you won’t see me do a lot of book tours anymore. 2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging? When it stops becoming fun. Blogging is a lot of work. I have a family who demands my attention and a full time job, so blogging is a way for me to unwind and to have fun. I figure if and when it stops becoming fun for me, I’d stop. Or maybe I’d take a time off from it for a while. 3. What is the best thing […]
I’m so excited to share the cover for Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid! If you must know, I discovered the awesome Ms. Reid last year when I read her novel After I Do: A Novel. This book became one of my top reads last year and I couldn’t wait to read more from her.
Cheating is one of the more difficult tropes to pull off in genre romance. The angst alone would be enough to send a reader into a tizzy. I still can’t say that I love to read about cheating whether it’d be in my romance books or not. But once in a while, when the mood strikes, I’d pick one up and just hope to God the angst won’t kill me. Heh.
What are your plans for Valentine’s day? Dinner for two? A lazy stroll along the beach? Or just stay at home and chill? I know a lot of my friends are dragging their significant others to see Fifty Shades of Grey today. But for those who are choosing to just chill at home to avoid the crowd (like me), you’re in luck. Why? Well, you have a chance to win fabulous prizes from me and my other blogger friends by just visiting our Facebook pages. I for one will be giving away not one but two Amazon gift cards. Plus, if you visit other blogs participating in the hop, you can win more! Just visit and then like my Facebook page, comment and then share. I will be choosing a winner on Sunday. So you have more than 24 hours to enter. Don’t forget to visit the other blogs as well in order to win more prizes. Have a nice Valentine’s day to all!
Leah Raeder will be releasing her second novel this coming April 28th 2015. It’s called Black Iris and the cover is gorgeous! Understated. Elegant. Mysterious. I am personally loving this cover. It fits with the dark themes of this book, which is according to her publisher, “a dark, sexy, romantic suspense”. It feels so ‘noir’ to me. Speaking of themes, Black Iris is about Laney Keating…
Before anything else, let me just say happy new year to everyone! 2014 has been a great year for books, and 2015 promises to be even better. Because of that, I’ve compiled a list of books that are coming out this year that we so badly want to read. This isn’t a general list, so you might not see every title releasing this year. What this list includes are books are either part of a series that I loved and looking forward to finishing; books from fave or auto-buy authors, and books about a character that I liked from a previous book or series.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you had a great one. Isn’t it amazing how fast the year has gone? I’m kind of bummed but at the same time excited for what 2015 has in store for all of us. In just a few days, we’re going to say goodbye to 2014 and say hello to 2015. So before the year ends, and before I reveal my top reads for 2014, I thought I’m going to post a teaser and cover for two of my highly anticipated books for 2015.
